Plow is part of the Open Mind Places in Referinghausen, located in the Sauerland region of Germany. This collectively built installation honors the village’s rural heritage. A staircase leads visitors down into the walkable steel sculpture, inviting them to explore its space as a transformative perspective and to rest on benches with a view of the surrounding fields and landscape.
Digitized records recounting the daily lives of ancestors can be accessed via a QR code within the installation. These stories, while reflecting the labor and hardships of rural life, convey a timeless message about the circle of life and the pursuit of joy and fulfillment in the face of challenges.
